Marissa grew up a military kid, and spent her early years in Kentucky, Hawaii and Ohio. She moved to San Antonio in middle school, where she graduated from high school and went on to attend and graduate from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2008. She intended to teach elementary school as her career, but she found her way to AMi in March of 2012 instead. Marissa continues to work with children weekly, where her patience and flexibility are constantly developing. Marissa’s experience as building manager for an active college ministry group taught her a bit about planning and coordinating multiple groups; that experience is very necessary at AMi!
